The Moroccan capital restores and reveals past



The Morocco capital Rabat restores its embankment after discovering that whole treasure of relics, and handicrafts ruins. "We have done some fantastic discovery, not only for the history of Rabat, but for the whole kingdom," said archaeologist and historian Essemmar Mohammed, who is head of the Heritage Agency, which is responsible for restructuring Valley Buregreg linking: Sister Cities Rabat and Sale. Roman columns and Kapitula, 12th century walls, Islamic pottery and coins were found in the sand. Opening the site in 2500 square meters - part of the military camp wall “ribata”, dating back to the 12th century and built during the short Almoravid dynasty King Tashfina Ben Ali (1143 -1145).

Excavations, costed 110000 euros were provided to the agency and violated the construction plans. Plan to reshape the mouth Buregreg, launched in January 2006, consists of six phases. The plan is aimed at restoring and converting two large banks of the river in urban and tourist centers. Partners investors from the United Arab Emirates contributed to the construction in the form of 2.5 billion dollars in the first two phases of work. The representative of Public Relations Agency Omar Benslimane said that "if we are in the process of building across the ruins of the other, then we will stop work in order to carry out archaeological expertise"
